“It’s always been our goal to highlight Latino talent in all industries. “We are here to educate and empower Latino talent in the Entertainment industry and to give our American Latino voice a platform. We have many stories to tell in both English and Spanish, ” said Maylen Calienes, Founder, Latino Filmmakers Network. When platforms like the Latino Filmmakers Network & Hispanicize work together, we become a force.”

The film agenda aims to empower filmmakers to not only recognize the importance of being seen on screen but also the power of being behind the camera and in positions of power. The film panels will offer tips on storytelling, pitching your next project, and using diversity & inclusion to project your American Latino voice and break through the stereotypes in Hollywood.

From pitching your script to producers and executives, to learning how to market your film, to even a live script reading presented by the New Normal Reading Series that will showcase emerging actors and writers of color in a live performance featuring Latino, Black & Native American talent, the Hispanicize LA film showcase has something for everyone. Anchoring the event will be a major film townhall titled “Beyond #MeToo & #TimesUp to #What'sNext. How today's women are breaking the glass ceiling. The panel will feature actresses, producers, activists and entrepreneurs that have made waves in both movements.
