Gaby makes EMMY history winning back-to-back talent award
Pasadena, CA. May 3, 2017- In a moment that stunned even the nominee, SuperLatina’s host Gaby Natale won a Daytime EMMY for “Outstanding Daytime Talent in a Spanish Language Program”, making it the second year in a row that the Argentine-born personality takes the award home and a first in the history of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
“I believe in representing Latinos -and especially Hispanic women- without stereotypes. As an independent content creator and entrepreneur, I know it’s extremely hard to beat the odds, so I couldn’t be happier when I heard they called my name from the stage”, said Natale after her win. “We have a small, passionate team putting out a show that we are proud of. The type of show that we, as audience, want to watch. To receive this recognition from our peers is the ultimate honor. To say that I am shocked is the understatement of the century”, she said.
Natale’s powerful acceptance speech was dedicated to the beauty of diversity and marked one of the most emotional moments of the 44th Daytime EMMY ceremony. The nod thrusts Natale into the spotlight as a singular, forceful voice for a new generation of Latinos who are fighting for a more positive representation in the national dialogue.
“Our duty is to speak up. Every time. That is what our audiences deserve. The flip side of visibility is responsibility. It’s not a choice; it’s mandate.”, said Natale.
This is the third Daytime EMMY Award for Natale. She won the same category last year in addition to the “Best Entertainment Program in Spanish” for her show “SuperLatina”. Natale owns the rights to her TV show and a TV studio, where the show is taped.
Gaby Natale’s upcoming projects include her debut as author. HarperCollins Español will publish her first book “El Círculo Virtuoso” (The Virtuous Circle), a mix of memoir and her personal transformation method derived from 10 years of interviewing top performers in every field.
