A few weeks ago, I was in Miami as John Frieda’s red carpet correspondent at the TVyNovelas’s #DivinasyHumanas event, and I chose the renowned Mexican painter as an inspiration for my look. Hace unas semanas, estuve en Miami como corresponsal de John Frieda en la alfombra roja del evento #DivinasyHumanas de la Revista TVyNovelas, y elegí a la famosa pintora mexicana como inspiración para mi look.
My TV show “SuperLatina” will soon air a couple of special reports with the event coverage, including my celebrity interviews at the event’s red carpet and a segment showcasing the John Frieda’s beauty squad. En mi show de televisión “SuperLatina” transmitiré muy pronto un par de reportes especiales con toda la cobertura del evento incluyendo mis entrevistas con las estrellas en la alfombra roja y un segmento mostrando al escuadrón de belleza de John Frieda en acción.
Meanwhile, here’s the step by step to achieve the “Frida” look. Mientras tanto, aquí te comparto el paso a paso para lograr el look “Frida”.
The first step is to prepare the hair and remove the frizz. Elba Rodriguez, hairstylist at Serge Normant at John Frieda, brought her magic straight from New York for this special day. Primero hay que preparar el cabello para que quede impecable y sin frizz. Elba Rodriguez, hairstylist para Serge Normant en el John Frieda Salon, trajo su magia directo desde Nueva York para este día.
Elba applied Frizz Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir and dried my hair with a flat brush. Elba aplicó Frizz Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir y secó todo el cabello con un cepillo plano.
Then she made a firm ponytail and “tamed” those annoying Little dancing hairs with Frizz Ease Extra Strength 6 Effects+ Serum. This created the foundation for the braids. Luego hizo un ponytail bien firme y prolijo y “aplanó” los latosos pelitos voladores con Frizz Ease Extra Strength 6 Effects+ Serum. Esto creó la base donde se apoyarían las trenzas.
If you don’t have a lot of hair like me, here´s an awesome tip: you can use extensions to add volume or additional braids. Mine were braided with pink ribbon. Si tienen poco cabello como yo, les paso este súper tip: pueden usar extensiones con clip para agregar volumen o trenzas adicionales. Las mías se trenzaron con un listón rosa.
Once you secured the braids at the front, divide the ponytail in two and braid each side. Secured them with pins. Una vez puestas las trenzas del frente, se parte el cabello del ponytail en dos y se trenza cada uno de los lados. Esas trenzas de atrás se fijan con pins.
Seal the hairstyle with Frizz Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray and add the flowers. Se sella el peinado con Frizz Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray y agregamos las flores.
Make up session and… voilá! This is the final result from all angles. Y después del maquillaje… este es el resultado final visto de todos los ángulos.
